NEARING THE FINISH LINE

09th December 2012
So what's special with a salon in Morestel in France? well the acceptance rate in this print salon is small indeed - 14% overall. I knew from some time back that one of my prints scored well but had to wait for the returns to find out. There were only three medals and three ribbons in each section - I'm really proud to be one of the awarded authors. I also received two Judges favorites - not an award but of all the entries one judge considered my images to be worth a special mention in the catalogue. For me this is one of the main reasons for entering salons - to discover how your images are received and adjudicated by other photographers.

Another nice result from Italy - 1st Western Liguria Circuit - I received three PSA ribbons and thirty acceptances. Another Irish photographer did very well too ! Wesley Law notched up four awards in this circuit. It's very gratifying indeed when other photographers embrace your success - all part of the experience ! There are a number of photographers who vie with each other to be the first to post results and openly congratulate others regardless of their own results - you know who you are Ciaran, Wesley and Tim. I don't know about anyone else but I need a break - plenty of paperwork to catch up on....
