EFIAP/b - NOTICE OF AWARD

Another milestone. Years ago I dreamed of achieving a FIAP distinction - little did I know how the whole process would grow on me. This distinction, above most other distinctions, is universally recognised simply because no applicant can circumvent the requirements - you either achieve the required number of acceptances and awards or you don't - it's the same all over the world and FIAP must be commended for this.

So to bring things up-to-date on the salon front. In 2011 I amassed 284 acceptances with 33 awards and so far this year I have managed to collect another 118 acceptances with 20 awards. My overall total to date is 877 acceptances and 93 awards. I think of the likes of Peter Gennard FRPS MFIAP EFIAP/p who judged our end-of-year competition (I bumped into Pete at Focus recently) - in 2007 he had amassed somewhere in excess of 1300 acceptances (and I hate to think of how many awards !) So I have a long way to go and hope to enjoy the journey with all the ups and downs - so far, the interest hasn't wained......
