IT"S GREAT WHEN GOOD NEWS COMES EARLY...

It's a great feeling to receive news that your image has been chosen as the top monochrome image in an International Salon. I achieved five acceptances out of eight entries. One of my colour images was also awarded a FIAP Ribbon.

I will be very interested to read the statistics because only 247 prints were accepted in this print only salon. There were three FIAP medals (Gold, Silver & Bronze) and six FIAP Ribbons awarded in each section along with two salon medals one Ruzomberok prize and one ZSF award.

I have to await clarification to discover which images were awarded.....

Update...

I received clarification (together with an invitation to the awards ceremony) from the salon. "Fotoforum Ruzomberok is an international exhibition of the art of photographs. The main meaning of it is a presentation of the authors collections" - so the awards were for the collection in monochrome (2 - FIAP Gold) and colour (3 - FIAP Ribbon) - I presume it's the combined scores.

The statistics were published in the official report form. There were 1320 prints entered - 532 monochrome and 788 colour prints entered by 219 authors from 39 countries. 247 prints were selected - 111 monochrome and 136 colour prints. On the report form the first name reads: "Zlata medaila FIAP: Hopper Brian EFIAP, Irsko".

p.s. Fotoforum Ruzomberok even sent a courtesy email to say they had indeed received the package with my entry - a nice touch and from memory the first who did confirm receipt of the entry.
