In a little over 1 week I have received report cards from another five salons – two in Bulgaria, one in Serbia, one in Bosnia & Herzegovinia and one in England. I have collected another 25 acceptances and three awards – one FSS Gold Medal and a UPI Honorary Mention in Smederevo (Serbia) and an Honorary Mention in Solway Salon (Print) in the UK.
The salons seem to be getting tougher – harder to gain acceptances, let alone awards. In the 5th International Photographic Salon Varna 2012 in Bulgaria 506 authors from 54 countries entered over 4000 pictures. After judging there were 202 pictures selected representing the work of 131 authors from 35 countries – marginally over 5% acceptance rate is indeed very tough. There were only five authors who managed to have four images accepted each – I was one of these.
My totals so far this year: 229 acceptances with 34 awards.
