Take risks, make mistakes.....

03rd October 2012
Recently, I was invited by Ciaran Whyte to a photoshoot with Ivory Flame. I jumped at the chance and quickly arranged Bellurgan House for that shoot. Bellurgan House is an ideal location – a period house with high celings, great natural lighting and many rooms – each affording a different setting.

Ivory Flame has been described as the quintessential art-nude model – an understatement. She is quiet-spoken and professional and makes a shoot an enjoyable event. Each pose is natural and expressive and each set is complete only when the photographer has the images he/she wanted - she is very easy to work with. My idea for a “cocoon” shoot with Ivory Flame didn’t work out as I had expected, but like all set ups, I now know what is required for the next time.

I had a number of ideas in mind for the shoot with Ivory Flame and had a lot of help from Ciaran. Like the models, Ciaran went that little step further than required and even insisted on final safety checks on the equipment. He found a little problem with a ladder but managed to fix everything! I have to thank Ciaran for the invite and all the help – it’s a pleasure working with him and seeing him at work – no wonder he is so successful…

We were joined by another model Colette Stone – I’ve included a few images of her here. She was willing to take chances and work with me – the images gained show this.

Photo comment By Ciaran: Nice to see some images from the shoot. Love the perspective looking down the stairs from above and the shot of the purple ribbons. I'm never too worried about an idea not working out. You learn and move on. It's not as if trying it was a chore!
Photo comment By Brian Hopper: Don't get me wrong Ciaran - loved the shoot and learned a great deal. I now know what I require to do for next time...and yes it was hard work !
