The London Salon 2011
31st July 2011

Presentation of Medals by Mr. Dave Yates, Chairman of The London Salon of Photography.
The presentation of medals took place in the Mark Mason Hall, 86 St. James Street, London - a fitting venue for this the 100th London Salon Exhibition. Both Michelle McNally and I were overwhelmed by the warm welcome we received by all. It was more akin to a family gathering with all made equally as welcome. We enjoyed meeting everyone and finally being able to put faces to the names we have heard of for so long. To have eight of ten medal recipients attending this presentation was indeed a fitting tribute for all the hard work which was put into the exhibition. It was a thrill to see all the prints framed and displayed with care - this is how an exhibition should be run. To have been included in this exhibition was for me a great personal thrill - to have been awarded a medal in this the centenary year of The London Salon of Photography was something special - definitely the high point of my photographic "crusade" - I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
